MATRIX CHALLENGE THE NATION BY PARTNERING WITH NATIONAL FITNESS GAMES

MATRIX CHALLENGE THE NATION BY PARTNERING WITH NATIONAL FITNESS GAMES

The National Fitness Games (NFG) is a team-based fitness competition like no other. Open to everyone willing to take on the challenge, the NFG has been formed to redefine the way we classify fitness.

In this industry, it’s common to see amazing feats of fitness; muscular endurance at events and races but we partnered with the National Fitness Games as we both believe an individual’s athletic ability should cover the main pillars of fitness. In order to truly test this, the 2019 NFG event consists of the following four workout zones:

  1. Strength Zone
  2. Velocity Zone
  3. Force Zone
  4. Endurance Zone

As official partners, Matrix have sponsored 20 teams into the event and devised part of the Endurance Zone challenge on the Matrix S-Force Performance Trainer, with 10 loaned to the Birmingham event.

The ‘S-Force’ takes training to the next level, moving users through a defined path that fits their individual stride, with resistance automatically increasing the harder they work.  For this particular challenge, teams had to finish 150m, or the elites had to stride through 200m in the fastest time.

Across three venues, and five full days of competition, teams of at least four in categories of men, women, mixed and masters will be competing in world class venues and facilities. They will be challenged to innovative workouts, credible fitness challenges created by elite athletes and respected coaches all in the pursuit of not only the pride, but one of the biggest prizes in the industry of £10,000 for the elite competition.

On the partnership, Sean Rice, Commercial Partnerships Manager, National Fitness Games comments:

“Through their industry-leading knowledge and performance creativity, National Fitness Games (NFG) has continued to push all standards of competition scheduling and workout design to the maximum limit, whilst providing athletes with the highest quality service and equipment available at the same time. NFG is thrilled to have Matrix Fitness on board as an Official Partner and to showcase their latest fitness technical advance, the S-Force Performance Trainer. The S-Force to a true test of acceleration performance, which amplifies the speed and power of each athlete through its shrewd, smooth movement. Together with Matrix, NFG is excited to continue its aim of pushing the boundaries of the fitness competition industry and to help athletes test their physical limits too!”

The first event took place over three days at the BodyPower Show at the NEC in Birmingham. At the end of the 3 days competition, first place results were as followed:

  • Elite Male: Team HTSL
  • Male: Training Space One
  • Female: Training Space Tribe 1
  • Mixed: Blyth Barbells & Bramwell Fitness
