Matrix Fitness Proud to Sponsor BUCS Conference 2017

Matrix Fitness was proud to be the supporting sponsor at BUCS 2017 which took place last week at the University of Hertfordshire.  The event was a debut for Matrix and a huge success at that!

The BUCS conference was made up of 3 packed days of keynote speeches, workshops and social activities -not forgetting to mention, the BUCS Awards dinner.
Matrix were on hand to entertain and network with the top Universities, elite athletes, trainers and rising stars of the sporting world in the UK. Wednesday evening played host to the Regional Sports Challenge Festival and BBQ with the winners of BUCS 2017 announced at the Awards Dinner Thursday evening.

Our Matrix Master Trainer, Matt Gleed, put delegates through their paces in the gym at lunch times. He was helped by Wigan Warriors Strength and Conditioning Coach, Ian Bentley on Wednesday to run some Rugby-League style training with the Matrix sales team.

Matrix were on hand with Ambassador and star – Paralympian Joe Townsend, to give out some free Matrix merchandise and drinks tokens and lent a little humour by hosting the ‘Egg and Spoon’ race. Well done to Rachel Smith of the University of Bath who came top of the leader board winning Gold! Well done to everyone else that took part – great effort!

After two days of running around in gym gear delegates dressed up to the nines and attended the Awards Dinner hosted by radio and television presenter and avid sports fan Colin Murray. Delegates had lots of fun into the early hours of Friday Morning. Matrix sponsored the ‘Unsung Hero’ Award, won by the deserving Daniel Slater of the University of Nottingham – what a great achievement!!
