Oak Bank School & The Academy of Central Bedfordshire

Matrix have partnered with both the Oak Bank School & The Academy of Central Bedfordshire to provide a high quality, robust and cost effective solution to both schools by upgrading new equipment at Oak Bank and installing new Strength and CV at the Academy.

The Academy of Central Bedfordshire is an Alternative Provision, that do things a little different to mainstream Local Authority. Whilst they offer some similar experiences, there are a range of differences that enable students to follow a curriculum that suits their needs and interests whilst preparing them for post 16 education, employment or training. Most students will follow the same curriculum offer but this may change depending upon need. Each student is assessed upon entry and the appropriate learning pathway identified from the outset and reviewed to ensure that progress is tracked and provision changed if necessary.

Oak Bank is an outstanding learning community that engages students and develops positive attitudes to learning.  The school caters for 105 students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) which covers a wide range of Social Emotional Needs.

Matrix refurbished a class room at the Academy with various Aura, free-weights, 1X treadmill, 1X bike, 1X Cross Trainer and the Matrix Rower- demonstrating even small spaces can be catered for.

At Oak Bank Matrix provided new equipment to old existing Johnson kit and moved all the equipment to the new Sport’s Centre for them. Including in the range was our Versa Duals and Elliptical with 1X console.

Oak Bank now have an effective work-space for the students with top of the range premium equipment. The Sports Hall now has a gym & fitness suite, a dance studio and much more.

Executive Headteacher for both schools – Peter Cohen couldn’t believe Matrix could provision both sites all within budge with kit that is easy to use and robust – this was vital for the students at the schools.
