National Fitness Day – Matrix are in!

National Fitness Day encourages the nation to celebrate the fun of fitness and physical activity across the UK.

It is also a chance to highlight the role physical activity plays across the UK, helping raise awareness of its importance in helping us lead healthier and active lifestyles.

National Fitness Day sees a huge range of activity options enjoyed by participants of all ages, such as ‘plank offs’, yoga and Pilates classes, gym challenges, high-street HIIT classes, dance-offs, mass walks, and much more.

The aim of UKactive is to make this day, the most active day of the year. They aim to engage a range of audiences from the inactive to the already active across a variety of settings from the home to the high street, the office to the gym.

This year it falls on the 27th September and is managed by UKactive.

To join on on this national event, we at Matrix Fitness UK will be completing a ‘Treadmill marathon’ on two of our treadmills at our head office in Stoke On Trent. From 830-1730 our treadmills will be going non-stop with our team sprinting, jogging and walking for a whole 9 hours! See us in action across all of our social media channels.

UKactive say;

“We encourage the thousands of clubs, parks, leisure centers and gyms across UKactive’s membership to open their doors to welcome the public to get active on National Fitness Day. We also encourage schools, workplaces, and communities to get involved in running events and activities to suit their audience on National Fitness Day.

We know the benefits of regular exercise includes a healthier heart, increased well-being, and a better quality of life. However, many of us find getting fit a struggle. It becomes a challenge when it shouldn’t be – which is why Ukactive host National Fitness Day: to highlight the simple and easy steps you can make to become more physically active and all the while enjoy it!
